Writing Center

The Ada Stokes Writing Center is a resource for BLC students and faculty.  Its primary mission is to help students grow as writers and succeed with writing assignments in their classes at Bethany.  The Center also supports and complements the curricula at BLC and seeks input from all Bethany faculty about the writing needs and requirements particular to their classes and disciplines.

The center is staffed with coaches who are effective writers and communicators, who understand that the best writing comes from revision, and who are dedicated to writing as a process.  The writing coaches are trained to provide help with every stage in the writing process-- idea generation, free writing, brainstorming, organization, drafting, revising, polishing, etc.

If you need help identifying a topic for a research paper in psychology; if you’re struggling with a book review; if you can’t seem to get your religion paper to flow; if you want to be sure your analysis of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” is clear and compelling, bring your works-in-progress to the Writing Center.

Center hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
