Health Services Health Services schedule this week, Tuesday Sept 27 8-12 pm Wednesday 8-1pm
Friday Concert Friday, Sept. 30 - Tjärnblom, guest artist concert at 7:00 pm in Trinity Chapel. Swedish for "woodland lake flower", Tjärnblom is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle), octave mandolin and harmonium. Tjärnblom has performed on the Prairie Home Companion radio show and at numerous festivals in Minnesota. Tickets are FREE for BLC students, faculty and staff! Regular tickets are $10 for all ages.. (Pssst....rumor has it that Dancing Queen is on the set list!)
Audition for Music Man Come audition for Music Man! There are parts for Singing Actors, Speaking only Actors, and Dancers! If you've ever wanted to be part of something big, now is the time! Dance Auditions are Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1:30 in the YFAC. Acting/Singing auditions will be Monday, Oct. 3 at 3:30 in the Sig Lee Theater. Any questions? Contact Ann Fredrickson at ann.fredrickson. Speech Team Success! The Bethany Speech Team hosted its first debate tournament of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Bethany did well! The team of Noella Wigtil and Tyler Voigt won a Gold award. Tyler was named the second best debater in the tournament. Zeffie Woods tied as the third best debater. Maren Thompson, in her very first tournament, tied as the tenth best debater! The Speech Team travels to Fargo/Moorhead this coming weekend. Wish them well!
Apple Orchard and Candy Barn Be at the glass staircase by 3pm this Sat 10/1 to take a trip to MN Harvest Apple Orchard and Minnesota's Largest Candy Store (the big yellow barn on 169)! Free transportation and admission to the orchard. Bring spending money (cash/check only at the Yellow Barn) if you want to buy apples or anything from the candy barn. Don't have spending money? Come along for the experience! Wagon rides through the orchard and a petting zoo. Vans will be back to Bethany by approximately 7pm. Brought to you by BAC.
Help deliver meals to seniors and disabled individuals Students and staff: Volunteers are needed to help deliver meals to seniors and disabled individuals in the Mankato area. Delivery takes just an hour and you can pick up meals between 10:45–11 a.m. Deliver once a week, once per month, whatever works with your schedule. Brighten someone's day with a visit from a friendly face with some great food and help make a difference in the Mankato community. Tournament on the Green! Come have fun in a ping pong/bean bag toss tournament on October 7th at 6 p.m. on the green! 1st place winners will win a $10 gift card to Chipotle and 2nd place winners will win a $5 gift card to Starbucks! IM Flag Football Sign-Ups Sign-ups are open for IM flag football. Games will be held Mon-Th & Sun evenings. Potential game times are 4-10pm weeknights and 2-10pm Sun's depending on the number of teams & team availability. Be sure to refer to the eligibility & roster portions of the rules when forming teams. Check your email or pick up rules, registration, and liability & emergency info forms on the IM wall in the SFC. X-terrain Outdoor Club Meeting There is still time to join the X-terrain outdoor club! We will be having our meeting on Tuesday October 4 at 8:00 in the top floor of Luther Hall. We will talk about our upcoming events such as star gazing, pumpkin carving, plus whatever you would like to do. Please bring your planner and your ideas!
America Reads/Counts Work Study BLC students from all majors are invited to participate in American Reads and Counts, a paid work study program that involves tutoring children in reading and math. Tutoring typically occurs at the child's school and matches your schedule during or after school hours on any weekdays. Candidates must clear a background check. Contact Dr. Polly Browne in HH327 or by email at pbrowne to apply or to get more information. It's a great way to get paid while gaining experience, representing BLC, and serving the community.

Looking for: A few reliable childcare workers to supervise young children while their moms participate in Bible Study. When: Wednesday Mornings from 8:00-10:00am, September 21st-December 7th. Where: Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, a few blocks from campus. Responsibilities: Lead bible story and song time, supervise activities and play time, and feed provided snack. This is a paid position.
