Ben Shapiro Viewing Party
Mon., February 26
The College Republicans will be hosting a viewing party to live-stream Ben Shapiro’s speech at the University of Minnesota Monday night at 7pm in the Lab. He will be talking capitalism, free speech, and all things liberty. Snacks will be provided.

Careers in Law Event/Legal Studies
Wed., February 28
On Wednesday, February 28th, Legal Studies/Law Club will host a field trip to the "Careers in Law" event at the University of Minnesota Law School. Representatives from over 20 law schools, non-profits, legislative offices and the FBI will be on hand to recruit. Bethany graduate Miles Kelson, who will graduate this semester from Chicago Kent Law School, will be recruiting for the event. Miles has asked to meet Bethany students who are interested in law. Res Halls Closed over Spring Break
Fri., March 2
The Res Halls close for Spring Break at noon on Fri. March 2. If you need to be on campus any time between noon on Fri 3/2/18 and noon on Sun 3/11/18, you need to fill out a waiver. Please return the waiver to OM 238 by 4pm Tues 2/27/18. Please direct questions to Renee Tatge, Coor. of Res Life. Feed My Starving Children Trip
Mon., March 12
There are about 815 million people in the world today without enough to eat (according to "The Hunger Project" website), but we can help! You are invited by STORM to help package food for hungry kids on Monday, March 12, from 6-11:30pm. (It's the evening before Advising Day.) This event is in Chanhassen, MN at a Feed My Starving Children facility. Please meet in Old Main by the piano at 5:55pm to get a ride. Also, if you'd like to go, please write your name on the sign-up sheet in Old Main on the bulletin board in the coat/backpack area. The more, the merrier!
Academic Resource Center and Disability ServicesThe Academic Resource Center (ARC) will be open this semester as follows: Sundays through Thursdays from 7-10 pm, Tuesdays 12:30-3:30 pm, Thursdays 1:30-3:30pm, Fridays 10:30 am -1:20 pm, and new this semester, Saturdays 12:00-3:00pm. Please plan to study or have test proctoring during those times. A schedule of ARC hours as well as links for test proctoring and applying for a tutor is posted under Academic Resources on MyBLC. If you have any questions about ARC service or have a disability service need, contact Dr. Carrie Pfeifer at cpfeifer@blc.edu or stop by her office-ML 101.
Need a Writing Tutor?Located in HH 217, the Ada Stokes Writing Center is open from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Monday afternoons, and from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (last call at 9:45 p.m.). Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are given priority. Tutors can help you understand writing assignments, develop thesis statements, organize ideas, and learn how to revise and edit academic essays. Additionally, they can help with creative works, resume writing, cover letters, and graduate school applications. If you can write it, the tutors can help!
