During my sabbatical (spring semester 2011), I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Wenbin Lin at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where I was involved in the development of photocatalysts incorporated into a stable and porous polymer material. Incorporating photocatalytic ruthenium centers into an insoluble catalyst facilitates the recovery and reuse of the catalyst as well as prevents contamination of the product with catalyst.
