WHY YOU CHOSE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION • • • With both a marketing and finance emphasis, I gained a wide range of skills that help me not only in my career, but also in my personal life.
YOUR FUTURE GOALS • • • In the short term, I would like to learn more about the investment management industry and move forward with my career. Long term, I look forward to starting a family and finding ways to give back to people and places that have had an impact on my life.
HOW BETHANY HAS PREPARED YOU • • • Bethany prepared me for my career in multiple ways. Academically, the classes were challenging and very pertinent to my career. Through the activities I was involved in, my interpersonal skills were strengthened and I was able to start growing a network of people that help me professionally, spritually, and emotionally. I am so thankful to the professors in the business major. Each professor had a very distinct teaching style, all of which I now realize was so beneficial in making me a well-rounded student, person, and job applicant. Some classes used primarily coursework to give me the knowledge necessary to be competitive and successful in finding a job in the finance industry. Other classes used real projects to give us experience with local businesses and professionals. This allowed me to build my resume and have experiences to call upon during interviews. It was the combination of challenging coursework and interpersonal relations with the business community in Mankato that helped me to get a job right after graduation.
WHAT YOU REMEMBER MOST • • • I remember and cherish most the relationships I formed at Bethany. I was blessed to find incredible Christian friends and have amazing adventures and experiences with them. I will always remember the friendly atmosphere and Christian environment that helped make my experience so memorable!
ADVICE FOR CURRENT STUDENTS • • • It might sound cliche, but it is so beneficial to get involved in as many things as possible. Join clubs, play sports, get work study jobs. Meet as many people and form as many relationships as you can. They are the beginning of creating a network that can lead to opportunities in your future.
