C.I.D.R. presents "The Legacy Show"
Wed., February 21
"The Legacy Show" is coming to Bethany THIS WEDNESDAY at 8:00 P.M. "The Legacy Show" is a multimedia concert of music by African American composers performed by violinist Tami Lee Hughes and pianist Byron Burford-Phearse, and features classical music infused with a variety of styles, including spirituals, blues, gospel, hip-hop, and jazz; poems introduce each piece and visual media provide images of people and places thematically related to the music. Tickets are FREE to students, faculty, and staff (go to blc.edu/legacyshow).
IM Racquetball Sign-Up

Sign-ups are now open for corec intramural singles racquetball! Racquetball is open to all BLC students, faculty, and staff. Complete the form below by Monday 2/19 to get on the schedule. Games must be completed within a scheduled time frame but actual game times will be left up to each pair of opponents. The schedule and rules will be sent out by Wednesday 2/21. If you are interested in running for Student Senate and want to make a difference on campus, please fill out an intent-to-run form for the Presidential spot! They are due by February 19th at 11:59 pm. This form is only for the presidential spot, senator elections will be held later.

ARC Hours Over Presidents' Day WeekendThe ARC is closed from Saturday, February 17 through Monday, February 19 for Presidents' Day. The ARC will reopen on Tuesday, February 20.
Grey Divorce
Tue., February 20
Kjirstyn Wicklund from Christian Family Solutions will be presenting on an emerging trend, known as “gray divorce”. This term refers to parents who divorce later in life, under the belief that their children and families will suffer fewer harmful effects and be able to adjust to their divorce with little impact. We will review what research shows us about the impact of divorce throughout the life cycle and examine how divorce impacts college students. The presentation will be held on February 20th at 6:00 in HH 215.
Donate to Nicaragua Junior nursing students will be on a global health care study tour during Spring Break. We are collecting donated over-the-counter medication to deliver to clinics we will be visiting. Nursing students will collect donated medication and/or money Tues Feb 20-Fri Feb 23 during 11:30am-1:30pm near the Dining Center. Medication must be over-the-counter medication in original and unopened packages with an expiration date 12 months or later. Contact Dr. Traylor for more information.

Careers in Law Event/Legal Studies

On Wednesday, February 28th, Legal Studies/Law Club will host a field trip to the "Careers in Law" event at the University of Minnesota Law School. Representatives from over 20 law schools, non-profits, legislative offices and the FBI will be on hand to recruit. Bethany graduate Miles Kelson, who will graduate this semester from Chicago Kent Law School, will be recruiting for the event. Miles has asked to meet Bethany students who are interested in law. Seating is limited. If you are interested, please email Professor Sara Edwards.
Academic Resource Center and Disability ServicesThe Academic Resource Center (ARC) will be open this semester as follows: Sundays through Thursdays from 7-10 pm, Tuesdays 12:30-3:30 pm, Thursdays 1:30-3:30pm, Fridays 10:30 am -1:20 pm, and new this semester, Saturdays 12:00-3:00pm. Please plan to study or have test proctoring during those times. A schedule of ARC hours as well as links for test proctoring and applying for a tutor is posted under Academic Resources on MyBLC. If you have any questions about ARC service or have a disability service need, contact Dr. Carrie Pfeifer at cpfeifer@blc.edu or stop by her office-ML 101.
Need a Writing Tutor?Located in HH 217, the Ada Stokes Writing Center is open from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Monday afternoons, and from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (last call at 9:45 p.m.). Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are given priority. Tutors can help you understand writing assignments, develop thesis statements, organize ideas, and learn how to revise and edit academic essays. Additionally, they can help with creative works, resume writing, cover letters, and graduate school applications. If you can write it, the tutors can help!
