Norman Holte, president of Bethany Lutheran College from 1978 until 1982, died at the age of 93 on Thursday morning, November 10, 2011, at Pathstone Living in Mankato, Minnesota.

Bethany Lutheran College is participating in Minnesota’s “Give to the Max Day” on Wednesday, November 16. This is Bethany’s first time participating in the annual event. GiveMN created “Give to the Max Day” with hopes of raising as much money as possible for Minnesota nonprofit organizations during a twenty-four hour period. GiveMN has helped raise more than $33,000,000 for more than 5,000 nonprofits since its 2009 debut.

The Bethany Lutheran College Board of Regents unanimously resolved at their August 2011 meeting to name the former Seminary/Bethany Communication Center in honor of the Reverend Milton E. Tweit. Tweit served Bethany Lutheran College as a Regents member for 56 years (21 years as chairman). Both are records for board service.

It was an exciting day at Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. A number of faculty, friends, and community members gathered as a variety of artifacts were removed from a time capsule that was placed in the Old Main cornerstone when the building was constructed in 1910-11. The 2011 Bethany Lutheran Collge Distinguished Alumnus Award will be presented to Willis Anthony. Anthony, of Norseland, Minnesota, attended high school and junior college at Bethany before attending Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota (U of M) where he received his bachelor of arts degree. The 2011 Bethany Lutheran College commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m., in the Ronald Younge Gymnasium on the BLC campus.
The commencement speaker is the Reverend Erwin Ekhoff, member of the Bethany Lutheran College Board of Regents. Ekhoff currently serves as the administrative pastor at King of Grace Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
