Bethany Lutheran College continues to move forward with plans to add a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree to its academic offerings. The College first announced the intent to create a nursing program in April 2013. Since that time, Sara Traylor PhD(c), MA, RN, CNE was hired as the College’s Director of Nursing. The Bethany Hawkwatch will kick off a special week of raptor migration counting in observance of the Hawk Migration Association of North America’s (HMANA) International Hawk Migration Week (IHMW). The Red Hats Company, made up of Bethany Lutheran College alumni Benji Inniger and Jacob Kempfert are producing a show entitled Saint Guillotine at the 2015 Minnesota Fringe Festival in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Fringe Festival is a performing arts festival held every summer. This year, 172 different shows will be produced in 24 venues throughout Minneapolis. Bethany Lutheran College is proud to announce four new members to its Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition, Bethany will honor the first-ever "Team of Distinction" at its annual Hall of Fame banquet in September. Steve Jaeger was associated with Bethany for 30 years and was involved in the college's transition from two to four-year athletics and NCAA membership. Jim Vinz is the recipient of the 2015 Bethany Lutheran College Distinguished Alumnus Award.  Vinz, originally from Amboy, Minnesota, enrolled at Bethany in 1979. He was a member of the Bethany basketball team and was active in theatre and Student Senate. Vinz earned an associate in arts degree from BLC in 1981. A new stained glass window was installed at the entrance of Bethany’s Old Main building on Thursday, March 13, 2015. The Bethany High School classes of 1952 and 1953 donated funds to create and install the stained glass, which is titled “The Way of the Cross.” It depicts the life of Christ in the artwork with his birth, death on the cross, and resurrection. NEW ORLEANS - The Bethany men's and women's cross country teams had successful seasons in 2014 each coming in third place at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championships last fall. The squads performed well in the classroom as also as both teams were selected to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III All-Academic Team.
