Sharp-shinned Hawk

The Bethany Hawkwatch will have an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Room 101 of the Marvin G. Meyer Hall of Science and Mathematics on the Bethany Lutheran College campus.

Chad Heins (Assistant Professor of Biology) will give a brief history of the Hawkwatch project as well as discuss raptor migration and identification. The public is welcome to attend. In 2013, volunteers at the Bethany Hawkwatch observed 4,170 raptors representing 16 species from August 15th to December 15th. This year’s count is underway and community members are welcome to visit or serve as volunteers.
