The Ada Stokes Writing Center The Ada Stokes Writing Center, located in HH 217, is open Monday - Thursday from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tutors provide help in the areas of essay writing, creative writing, resumes, cover letters, graduate applications, and more. Reformation Lectures The annual Bjarne W. Teigen Memorial Lectures will be held October 27–28, 2016. This year the theme will be “The Cost of Confessing: Luther and the Three Princes.” The first lecture will begin Thursday at 10:30, in the YFAC theater: “Luther and Frederick the Wise,” by Dr. Roland Ziegler; lecture two, Thursday at 2:00: “Luther and John the Constant,” by Dr. Charles Cortright; and lecture three, Friday at 10:30: “Luther and John Frederick,” by Dr. David Lumpp.
Jazz Band concert Sunday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. in Trinity Chapel - The Bethany Jazz Band performs a concert of rock, pop and jazz hits, led by director Adrian Lo.

Basketball Coaches Needed Mt. Olive Lutheran School is in need of basketball coaches for the Girls B team (5th-6th grade) Girls A team (7th and 8th Grade) and the Boys B team (5th-6th grade). Practices will be on Mondays and Thursdays for the girls teams and Tuesdays and Fridays for the boys. Practice times are between 2:30 and 5:30PM depending on the coaches availability. IM BB Sign-Ups Sign-ups are open for mens and womens IM BB. Games will be held Mon-Thurs and Sun evenings. Potential game times are 4-10:00pm depending on the number of teams and gym availability. Be sure to refer to the eligibility & roster portions of the rules when forming teams! Rules, roster, and liability/emergency information (2-sided) forms can be picked up from the IM wall in the SFC. Return completed forms to the same area. Rosters are due Wed 11/2. MANDATORY captain's meeting Sun 11/6 6:30pm in the SFC classroom. Games begin Mon 11/7. Questions? Psychology Book Fair The Psychology Department and Psychology Club will be hosting a book fair (i.e. giveaway) on Advising Day (Alternate title: The John Boubel Memorial Book Fair). From 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., stop by the 3rd floor of Honsey (by the North Lantern) and peruse what we have to offer. Books are free, but a free-will donation will be collected to raise funds for future Psychology Club activities. Come by and see what psychological treasures you may find!

COMM111.B Accelerated Public Speaking For advising purposes, the section of Fundamentals of Speech, COMM111.B will be accelerated. It will meet five days a week and finish shortly after Spring Break. While this was originally designed to allow athletes to free up their schedule at the end of the semester, the class is open to all students.

Final Regular Season Home Soccer Games On Friday, October 28th the men's and women's soccer teams will play their final regular season home games of the 2016 season. The men's game will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the women's game at 3:15 p.m. Come out to the BLC Soccer Field and cheer on the BLC soccer teams! GO VIKINGS
