Psych Club Donuts N' Discussion: Keeping your New Year's Resolutions Join the Psychology Club on Friday, Jan. 20 at 3:30pm in Honsey Hall 311 for our first Donuts 'N Discussion of the new year. We will be talking about how to use psychology to make and keep new year's resolutions and stick with the goals you set for yourself this year. Enjoy some donuts and helpful tips on making your goals in 2017.
Need Tutoring Tutoring is available for free to all Bethany students. To request a tutor, complete the tutoring request form found on the Bethany website under Academics-Academic Resources and then click on tutoring.
Reaching Out to People with Special Needs Domestically and Internationally Wednesday, January 18 – 7 pm HH Viewing Room There are many opportunities and challenges for reaching out and sharing the Gospel with people who have special needs. In this inspiring presentation, you will hear first-hand stories about how people with special needs are being served in Malawi and the USA. You will also be given tips and suggestions for how to carry out such outreach in your own community. Presenters: Davie Duwe (Mitumbu) has served as Field Assistant for Kingdom Workers Malawi since 2013. Pastor Joel Gaertner is the Vice President of Ministry for the Lutheran Home Association.
2017 Bethany Phone-a-thon Looking for a job this semester? Do you have a busy schedule and need something flexible? Consider applying for the Bethany Phone-a-thon! If you enjoy talking to new people on the phone, and representing the college to our alumni & friends then this could be a job for you! Pick the shifts each week that you want to work, get paid, play gamest, and food/prizes when we hit our goals. This is also a job that will help you develop strong communication skills, and is something you will be proud to put on a resume someday. Two Problems. One Person. On January 19th at 7:30 pm in Luther Hall, Christian Family Solutions’ counselor Angie Thomas will be presenting about co-occurring disorders. (TWO PROBLEMS. ONE PERSON.) Angie will be sharing some critical points on how you can understand and then help someone suffering with addictions and mental illness. To sweeten the deal, snacks will be provided AND a $20 gift card will be given to one lucky attendee. Come. Eat. Learn. Win Prizes.
Business Club - Resume Night Would you like a networking opportunity? Do you need someone to review your resume? Bethany Business Club will be hosting a Resume Night on January 30th, at 7:00PM Top floor of HH. Anyone who is business major/minor, or who are taking a business course are invited. A student will be paired up with a business professional, who will offer tips on your resume. Summer English Camp at St. Croix Lutheran 6-12 St. Croix’s Summer English Language Experience is looking for fun-loving, responsible young men to help supervise young students (age 11-17) from around the globe, both on daytime activities around the Twin Cities, and in the evenings in the dormitory. Besides salary, this position would also have a room in the dorm during camp, and all meals during camp would be provided. Between the Bridges Healing Centers is hiring Evening part-time 5-10+ hours per week. 2-3 times/week Interior/Exterior cleaning for health clinic. Job duties include (evening hours) cleaning/vacuuming 3 bathrooms/floors throughout, surface cleaning, emptying garbage, break down cardboard boxes, clean workout equipment, interior window washing. Exterior maintenance weather permitting: lawn-mowing/lawn mower maintenance, fall cleanup, weed pulling, sweeping, window washing, shoveling. Starting pay: $10/hour. Nanny Needed A local family is seeking an after-school nanny for two boys ages 10 and 14. Help would be needed several days a week between 5 pm to 7 pm. X-Terrain Outdoor Club Meeting The X-Terrain Outdoor Club will be having its first meeting of the semester on Thursday January 19th at 8:00 pm in the third floor of Luther Hall. We will discuss upcoming events: a winter hike, downhill skiing/snowboarding, Easter egg dying, and also any of your ideas! We will also vote on this semester's officers. Writing Center The Ada Stokes Writing Center, located in HH 217, is open Monday - Thursday from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Tutors provide help in the areas of essay writing, creative writing, resumes, cover letters, graduate applications, and more.
