Engineering Sciences Major

Bethany Lutheran College recently announced the addition of a new major in engineering sciences. Engineering is more than designing things. Engineers do more than build things. Engineers rely on a solid foundation of science and mathematics to understand and solve problems. In today’s technology-driven society, innovative thinkers will always be in high demand. In addition, the very nature of technology requires a constantly changing and broadly diverse set of critical thinking skills. Because of its solid grounding in the liberal arts, Bethany Lutheran College is ideally suited for the teaching of these skills.

The engineering sciences program is modeled closely after the bachelor of arts in engineering sciences at Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Two concentrations or tracks are available: mechanical engineering, and biomedical engineering. These tracks uniquely leverage both the academic expertise as well as the professional connections already established by our current faculty.
