Psychology Club meeting THURSDAY

The Psychology Club will have its meeting THIS THURSDAY at 9:00 P.M. in The Lab Coffee Shop. All majors are welcome! Help us plan events for the spring, including the upcoming Psychology Week (March 20-25). If you ever ask questions like, "Why does he do that?" or "Why does she act that way?", then you're basically in Psychology Club already, so show up to the meeting and make it official!
New Music Recital

Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 pm in Trinity Chapel - Bethany students showcase brand new compositions they have written during the academic year. All pieces, representing many musical genres, are performed by Bethany students and Bethany music ensembles. Free, and open to the public.
Ottesen MuseumDid you know that the church body that is now the ELS was founded twice? Find out more at the Ottesen Museum. Regular hours are 1:30 - 4:30, Tuesday through Thursday or by appointment. Student Employment ChecksStudent employment checks can be picked up at the Business Office window from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Please bring your Bethany ID with you.
Paid Internship in ChinaGraduating seniors are invited to apply to work in the English Language Center at United International College (UIC) for 2017-18. The pay is good for China, the people are friendly, and the travel opportunities are awesome. For more information check your 2-14-17 emails or contact KathyBruss@blc.edu . The deadline is March 15. All applications go through the Study Abroad Office.
X-terrain Downhill Skiing at Mt.Kato

Ski or Snowboard at Mt.Kato at a discounted price while supporting the ECHO food shelf on Feb 24th. Bring 5 non-perishable food items per person to Mt.Kato and receive discounted lift tickets for $13 and rentals for $12. If you're an X-terrain member (meaning you've been to a meeting and event), BLC will give you an extra $5 off if you sign up at the office before February 22nd. Drive yourself to Mt.Kato at or after 4:00 (whenever you'd like), pay full price at the window and we'll reimburse you $5 later.
$3,000 Grant for Study AbroadBusiness and STEM majors who receive a Federal Pell Grant are eligible to apply for the $3,000 Horton Scholarship for semester study abroad in 2017-18. The student must have a 2.8 GPA or higher, have at least junior status by the semester abroad, and demonstrate financial need. For more information or to apply, contact the Coordinator for International Education at KathyBruss@blc.edu . The deadline is April 15.
Seminary Night

Men if you would like to have more information about the pastoral ministry come to Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary on Sunday night, February 26, from 5:30–7:00. Dr. Michael Smith will give a presentation entitled “Is the Pastoral Ministry For Me?” Supper will be provided.
Res Halls over Spring BreakThe Residence Halls are closed over Spring Break beginning 5pm Thursday 3/2/17. The Res Halls reopen at noon on Sunday 3/12/17. Students needing to be on campus over break must complete a waiver available from Renee Tatge OM238, Ted Manthe OM236, or Glenda Bossow MH205. The cost to stay on campus is $20 per night (exceptions: participants in Bethany-sponsored activities, apartment residents, and international students). Waivers are due by 4pm Tuesday 2/28. Writing CenterThe Ada Stokes Writing Center, located in HH 217, is open Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Tutors provide help in the areas of essay writing, creative writing, resumes, cover letters, graduate applications, and more. Walk-ins are welcome, but priority is given to individuals with an appointment. To make an appointment, go to MyBLC and search for “Writing Center Appointment Form.” Come see us!
