Soloist: As the deer longs…  /  Congregation: As the deer longs for…

Athirst my soul for you, the God who is my life! When shall I see the face of God?

 C: As the deer longs…

Echoes meet as deep is calling unto deep, over my head all your mighty waters,

sweeping over me.   /   As the deer longs for…

Continually the foe delights in taunting me: “Where is your God?”

Where, O where are you?  /  As the deer longs…

Defend me God, send forth your light and your truth,

they will lead me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place. / As the deer…

Then I shall go unto the altar of my God. Praising you, O my joy and gladness,

I shall praise your name.  /  As the deer longs…

Scripture

2 Corinthians 12:9 And (God) said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
