All: I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord.

Lectern: The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.

Pulpit: This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Lectern: Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death,

Pulpit: That just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,

All: Even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Lectern: Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

Pulpit: Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.

All: Death no longer has dominion over Him.

Lectern: For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all;

Pulpit: but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

All: Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 * Organ introduction — setting by Jacob B. Weber

Lectern: And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!

All: But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Lord God, heavenly Father, You delivered Your Son for our offenses, and raised Him again for our justification: We beseech You, grant us Your Holy Spirit, that He may rule and govern us according to Your will; graciously keep us in the true faith, defend us from all sins, and after this life raise us to eternal life; through the same, Your beloved Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one true God, now and forever. Amen.
