Welcome Students!

Greetings to you—both new and returning Bethany Lutheran College students. This page is designed as a resource to help answer many of the questions students have before the beginning of the new semester. We encourage you to become as involved as possible at Bethany. Opportunities abound for meeting new people and learning new things.

Checklists

NEW student living ON campus

Before you arrive:

When you arrive:

  • Get your room key and fob from the Resident Manager (RM) in your res hall
  • Check into your room with your Resident Assistant (RA) and get your information folder
  • Get your Student ID in the library
  • Check your meal plan
  • Pay cable TV (if requested) at the Business Office
  • Register your car (BLC login required)
  • Buy your parking permit if you wish to park on campus
  • Buy books at the bookstore
  • Find your mailbox
  • Get your computer connected to the Bethany network

NEW student living OFF campus

  • Get your welcome folder from the information secretary in Old Main
  • Get your mailbox key, student ID, and fob in the library

Fine Arts

Instrumental music

Concert Band is open to all musicians. Rehearsals are 3:30-4:20 p.m., Monday - Wednesday.

Chapel Brass
is open to brass members of the Concert Band and rehearses Thursdays.

Jazz Band
is open to all members of Concert Band. Rehearsals will be determined by the availability of the members and director.
 

Students may register for half-hour private instrument lessons (MUSC190D) with the registrar. An instructor and lesson time will be assigned to you based on your class schedule and that of the instructor. Watch the "lesson information" bulletin board in the practice room hallway of the Ylvisaker Fine Arts Center for the lesson schedules to be posted.

Choral music

Concert Choir is a mixed choir for campus and tour performances.
Rehearsals are 4:30-6p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Mary Martha Singers
is women's choir for campus and tour performances, Rehearsals are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 - 4:20 p.m.
Contact Ann Frederickson if you are interested in joining.

Handbell Choir

Rehearsals are on alternate Mondays from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Contact Dennis Marzolf if you are interested in joining.

Students may register for half-hour private vocal lessons (MUSC190A) with the registrar. The cost per semester is $350 for 13 lessons. An instructor and lesson time will be assigned to you based on your class schedule. Watch the "lesson information" kiosk in the practice room hallway of the Ylvisaker Fine Arts Center for the lesson schedules to be posted there.

Theater

Choraliers is a non-auditioned vocal organization that performs a lyric opera.
Contact Dennis Marzolf if you are interested in joining Choraliers.

Spring Play performances are in mid-April. Watch for announcements or contact a theater professor for more information.
