Elementary Education Major

Being a teacher is both very challenging and incredibly rewarding. We believe that future teachers educated from a Christ-centered perspective will be better prepared to meet the needs of children in a multi-cultural society whether in public or private schools.

We offer Minnesota state-approved teaching licensure for K-8 with middle school endorsements in communication arts and literature, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students desiring to teach in Lutheran elementary schools take additional coursework for certification by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

“The Bethany faculty members are very nice and helpful, and they know us all on a personal level.  This was important for placing us with our student teaching host teacher.  I thought they assigned me with an excellent teacher, and I can see that other student teachers were placed in great environments as well. This comes from knowing our personalities and how we work.”
