Music Major

Bethany’s music major includes private study, ensemble participation, music theory, music skills (sight, singing, ear training), and music history. As a music major you will choose an emphasis in performance, theory and composition, conducting, church music, or music history. In addition to foundational courses, students choose further coursework appropriate to their area of emphasis and give evidence of their developing expertise through a senior project, presentation, or recital.

Bethany’s music department enjoys fine facilities for instruction and practice. In our program, you will also have the opportunity to join with other students who love to sing and play. Performance groups at Bethany aim for polished presentations while providing all participants with the opportunity for refreshment in both rehearsals and performances. Most importantly, Bethany’s music major is built on a strong Christian foundation and understanding of music’s spiritual purpose and strength.
