The Bethany Speech Team offers a series of five Tuesday afternoon debate tournaments. These tournaments, while small, are fun and educational. Here are more details:

• 3 prelim rounds with 2 outrounds (Phi Rho Pi style)
• Round 3 is a case study debate
• Each tournament begins at 2 pm and ends around 9 pm
• Each debaters evening meal is included with entry fee
• All teams with winning records (3-0, 2-1) will advance to outrounds.
• Awards will be given to advancing teams and to the top five speakers.
• Season long school awards and individual speaker awards will be given at the final tournament.

Each tournament is run on the schedule, see below:

• 1:30 pm - Registration begins
• 2 pm - Round 1
• 3:15 pm - Round 2
• 4:30 pm - Round 3 (Power matched)
• 5:30 pm - Evening meal in the Bethany Dining Center
• 6:30 pm - Bronze Round
• 7:45 pm - Gold Round
• 8:45 pm - Awards

Beginners' Workshop - The Bethany Speech Team offers a workshop the morning of the first PLUM tournament for new debaters. This intensive training session will prepare debaters for their first tournament that afternoon. There is no cost for this workshop. Find more information here.
