Round 2: This House would pardon the turkey.
Round 3: (case) Tony is an event organizer for a large commercial company. ÊHis job is to make the arrangements for large company functions, such as conventions, speakers, and public celebrations. ÊWhile Tony has access to several charge accounts and company credit cards, he prefers to use his personal Visa card which gives him Òbonus pointsÓ. ÊFor every dollar that Tony spends on the card, he receives these points. ÊHe then turns the receipts into the company who gives him a reimbursement check. On average, each year Tony earns four free round trip airline tickets and five free hotel weekend stays. ÊHe also is an ÒeliteÓ member of an airline, a hotel chain, and has access to a time share in Mexico.
Ê Roger is the new Vice President of Public Relations at the company and is TonyÕs boss. ÊWhen Roger finds out about the use of TonyÕs personal credit card, he is upset at how Tony is taking advantage of the company. ÊWhile it does not cost the company more money, it takes extra time to process the check requests. ÊRoger feels Tony is getting additional benefits from the company that are not available to most employees. ÊHe offers Tony an option, start using the companyÕs accounts or take a 10% reduction in pay.
In this case, the Government team must uphold the statement: RogerÕs actions are morally acceptable.
Bronze Round: This House would classify Major Nidal Hasan, the alleged Fort Hood shooter, as a terrorist.
Gold Round: No gold round due to close-out.
