TOPICS:
Round 1: This House would give power to the customer.
Round 2: Resolved: The international community should take advantage of the death of Yasser Arafat.
Round 3: (Case) Tony Thompson is an Olymipic diver. In the most recent Summer Olympics, Tony was awarded the gold medal in his diving event. He achieved this by a fantastic performance on the final dive, by which he surpassed the score of the diver immediately before him, who was awarded the silver medal. However, after the award ceremony, an error was discovered in how the judges had scored the silver medalist. While Tony's score was computed correctly, the diver who received the silver medal had actually earned a better overall score than Tony. The International Olympic Committee is aware of these facts, and is deliberating about what (if anything) to do. International outcry is growing for Tony to give up his gold medal voluntarily, and to take the silver.
In this case the Government must defend the position: Tony should take the silver medal.
Bronze Round: Resolved: College administrators should notify parents of a student's alcohol-related violation of a rule or law.
Gold Round: This House would choose the X-box Halo and Halo 2 over the Iliad and the Odyssey.
