America Reads and Counts BLC students interested in tutoring local school children through the America Reads and America Counts federal work study programs, please see Mike Butzow in Old Main 227 to express your interest. These paid opportunities provide meaningful experience in helping others while adding depth to your resume. BLC students from any major may apply. Tutoring opportunities are matched to your schedule.
Officials Needed for Intramurals If you are interested in working as an official for intramural sports, please check your email for the application. You may email it back or return it to Renee Tatge's (IM Director) office SFC 203. Applications are due by Tuesday 9/2/14. The hiring of officials and scorekeepers will be sport-specific. You will be asked to provide your availability at the start of each sport. Hours vary depending upon the number of teams and facility availability. Games are held Monday-Thursdays and Sunday evenings. Training sessions (one per sport) are Sunday afternoons.
Fun at the Lake - Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, 4:00 p.m. Everyone who is interested in psychology or sociology is invited to join us at the Wiechmanns' house on Lake Madison for a final summer hurrah! The fun begins at 4:00 p.m. We'll provide dinner, pontoon boat rides, lawn games, and more. The address is 22339 Lakehouse Drive, Madison Lake, MN. Bethany Auxiliary The 2014-15 activities for the Mankato branch of the Bethany Auxiliary will open on Tuesday, September 9 with a presentation by Dr. Ashley Rand. She will speak about her transition from Bethany student to Bethany math professor at 7:00 p.m. in Meyer Hall 130. Anyone interested is warmly invited to attend! Following the presentation the first business meeting of the year will be held by those wishing to stay.
