Maggie Bruder Senior Thesis Join us on Thursday, December 8th at 4pm in MH301. Maggie will give an overview of conic sections, ellipses, complex numbers and polynomials to look at the connections between geometry and the complex plane in Marden's Theorem, which states that the unique ellipse inscribed within the triangle formed by the complex roots of a polynomial have foci at the roots of the polynomials derivative.
Divers Concert The Divers Christmas Party Concert is Friday, December 9, 7:30 p.m. in the YFAC theater. Join The Divers (BLC profs Pete Bloedel & Andy Overn, and BLC alums Eric Halvorson & Loren Halvorson) for a concert that includes a Christmas carol singalong. Free Yuletide fun for everyone! Doors open at 7, general admission. This concert is jam packed every year, so arrive early for the best seats.
Commencement December graduates are to report by 2:45pm on Friday, December 9th to Trinity Chapel Room 101 for commencement.

Christmas Giving Opportunity STORM and a business management group have come together to sponsor a Giving Tree for families of New Ulm area churches and their Christian day school students. This tree is located in the lounge area of the main floor of Honsey Hall. Please feel free to take a gift tag to shop for those in need! Please return the gift with the tag by Thursday, December 15.
Holiday Sharing Tree Outside the cafeteria are 3 trees with cards on them. If you would like to purchase a gift for someone needy, please pick up a card, purchase the item on the card and return the wrapped gift with the tag on the outside of the package to the Business Office by Friday December 16th. If you don't make the December 16th date you can always drop your gift off at the Madison East Center by 5pm on Saturday December 17th .
Gift Wrap Volunteers The Holiday Sharing Tree is celebrating 31 years of giving to those in need in Blue Earth & Nicollet Counties. They provide gifts to approx. 2,800 people each holiday season. There is a gift wrap center located at the River Hills Mall where volunteers can pick time slots (usually 2 hour slots) to wrap gifts. And, you don’t need to be an expert at wrapping! New Bible Studies The Student Senate is hosting two new Bible Studies on campus. One, in Anderson Hall's 4th floor lounge at 8:30 on Tuesdays, is led by Noella Wigtil. The second is in Gullixson's 4th floor lounge at 6:30 on Thursdays led by John Wagner. Everyone is welcome. Bring a Bible and a friend!

MOMs Bible Study Childcare Looking for: A few reliable childcare workers to supervise young children while their moms participate in Bible Study When: Wednesday Mornings from 8:00-10:00am, February 1st to April 26th. Res Halls over Christmas Break The Residence Halls are closed over Christmas Break beginning 5pm Thursday 12/15/16. The Res Halls reopen at noon on Sunday 1/8/17. Students needing to be on campus over break must complete a waiver available from Renee Tatge OM238, Ted Manthe OM236, or Glenda Bossow MH205. The cost to stay on campus is $20 per night (exceptions: participants in Bethany-sponsored activities, apartment residents, and international students). Waivers are due by 4pm Tuesday 12/13. CLIMB 2 Feed Kids Climb 2 Feed Kids is Sunday, January 8, 2017 and helps raise funds to provide low-income elementary students in the Mankato area with packs of child-friendly nutritious food for every weekend and school break. The BackPack Food Program fills their tummies on the weekend so teachers can fill their minds on Monday morning. You can be a Photo Booth Assistant or Climbing Assistant! Choose between three shifts: 9:30- 11:30, 11:30-1:30 and 1:30-3:30 at the MSU-Mankato Taylor Center-Bresnan Arena. Fire and Ice Ball United Way's Fire & Ice Ball is a gala fundraiser and they need volunteers! This second annual event will take place on December 9 at Snell Motors. The Ada Stokes Writing Center The Ada Stokes Writing Center, located in HH 217, is open Monday - Thursday from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tutors provide help in the areas of essay writing, creative writing, resumes, cover letters, graduate applications, and more.
