The SMSU Forensics Team is a student supported co-curricular activity that is open to all students who are enrolled at SMSU.  Students from all majors are welcome to be members of the team.  No previous experience with speech activities is required.  Students who make up the team are highly motivated individuals with a desire to improve their communication abilities and generally come from all majors on campus.  The budget of the program is funded through the administration, self-generated revenue and student activity fees.  Cost of involvement to the individual student is minimal.  The team sponsors on-campus events such as showcase performances and two high school tournaments.  The mission of SMSU Forensics is primarily an educational one.  Academic credit can also be earned for participation in the activity.
