The Evan Anderson Forum Philosophy

The Evan Anderson Forum is a comprehensive, co-curricular forensics program that competes in eleven American Forensics Association individual events, as well as in National Parliamentary Debate Association Parliamentary Debate. Our program is grounded in the Three Crowns: Education, Competition and Fun. We believe in the liberal arts tradition of forensics, and we also whole-heartedly believe that forensics training is one of the best ways to develop a student’s advocacy, research, critical thinking, higher-level analytical, rhetorical analysis and performance skills. Firmly grounded within the liberal arts tradition, forensics is what one alum termed “a college education in a nutshell.”

Gustavus Adolphus Speech Team Information

· Top 20 at the 2007 American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament.

· Second place at the 2007 Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament and Convention.

· A representative on both the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament and Pi Kappa Delta All-American teams.

· Qualified for the Interstate Oratorical Association National Contest three consecutive years.

· 2007 Minnesota Collegiate Forensics Association State Parliamentary Debate Champions.

· Scholarships available for qualifying students.
