Cody currently live in Bristol, Connecticut working at ESPN, Inc. as an operations technician/audio assistant.
WHAT YOU DO • • • My responibilities are to handle microphones and IFBs for on-air personalities, as well as handling communication intercoms, both micro (within ESPN) and macro (worldwide). I spend my work day actively involved with many of the studio shows you would normally see on ESPN, overseeing the audio equipment being used, and troubleshooting when there are problems.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU • • • I am inspired by people who are passionate about what they do, no matter what their chosen field is. Maybe it's an artist sharing her gift with the world, maybe it's a mechanical engineer developing better cars. When people are actively engaged in what they do, that inspires me to work harder in my field.
HOW YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE • • • I think the biggest way that I can make a difference is to be actively involved in things bigger than myself. At Bethany, I made it a point to take advantage of as many opportunities that I could. After Bethany, that mentality of being involved in my community is still strong.
HOW BETHANY HAS PREPARED YOU • • • While Bethany provides education of the highest caliber, it's shining light is and will continue to be it's focus on Christ's work for us. The spiritual preparation that Bethany provides is by far the most important.
WHAT YOU REMEMBER MOST • • • I'll remember my participation in all the ensembles—drumline, band, choir, jazz, the broadcasting program, good friends that I made, shenanigans I got into, meeting my beautiful fiancé, and overall having four of the best years of my life.
ADVICE FOR CURRENT STUDENTS • • • My advice for current students is to take a deep breath, clear your mind every once in a while, and take time to enjoy your college years. If there's a band playing in the Lab, put the book down for 10 minutes and go listen. Live a little!
