Head Coach Derick Lyngholm

Derick Lyngholm enters his third season as coach of the Vikings women's soccer team. A 1997 Bethany alumnus, Lyngholm coached a young Vikings team to 5-11-4 in 2008. Prior to Bethany, Lyngholm served as an assistant coach with the Bethel University men's soccer program for six years. Working primarily with the goalkeepers and recruiting, Lyngholm helped lead Bethel to the 2004 MIAC Tournament. It marked the Royals first post-season berth in over 20 years. During his tenure, Bethel goalkeepers set school records for shutouts in a season, shutouts in a career, were twice named captain, won team MVP honors, conference player of the week, and received first team all-conference accolades. Lyngholm currently holds a NSCAA National Coaching Diploma and a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.

As a player, Lyngholm was a two-year starter for the Bethany Vikings from 1995-96. As a freshman he started every game at goalkeeper and helped lead the team to a 14-3-1 record and a #15 national ranking. Lyngholm then played for the Bethel Royals from 1997-98. As a senior, he etched his name in the NCAA record books when he recorded 32 saves against top rated and defending national champion Wheaton College.

Lyngholm received his A.A. from Bethany and both his B.A. in media communication and his M.A. in communication from Bethel. In addition to his duties as head coach, Lyngholm is also an instructor in Bethany's communication department. Lyngholm resides in Eagle Lake with his wife, Dianna.

Assistant Coach Ruthann Kragh

Ruthann Kragh enters his first season as an assistant with the women's soccer program. Kragh joins the staff with NCAA DI Coaching experience win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). As the head coach of the women's hockey program at Bemidji State University from 1998 to 2001, she helped lead the Beavers to a 59-58-6 record. The Cheboygan, Michigan, native then joined the women's hockey staff at Minnesota State University, Mankato as the program's recruiting coordinator and first assistant and worked with the program until 2006. Although Kragh has spent the majority of her coaching career on the ice, she is no stranger to the soccer field. Kragh played soccer while in high school along with hockey, volleyball and softball.

Kragh will assist coach Lyngholm with practice, player development and recruiting. In addition to her coaching duties, she also serves as Bethany's Registrar. Kragh resides in Mankato with her husband, Ryan, who coaches baseball at Bethany, and their two children, Maria and Jaden Dylan.
