Alumna Profile

Brittany Zabel (2012)

Brittany is currently a teaching assistant at MSU-Mankato, where she is pursuing graduate studies in mathematics.  She is also the women's soccer assistant coach at Bethany Lutheran College.

WHAT YOU DO • • • I am currently earning my master's in mathematics at MSU-Mankato and am teaching a section of College Algebra there as well. My typical day consists of teaching, attending courses, doing homework, and helping my students either in my office or at the tutoring center.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU • • • Ever since I was young, I have always enjoyed math and science. I originally came to Bethany to pursue an engineering degree, but my math professors helped me see how much I enjoy math and sharing it with others.

HOW YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE • • • I would love to become a college professor and soccer coach. I have always enjoyed both school and sports, so this would be the best way to share my passions with others.

WHAT YOU REMEMBER MOST • • • What I remember most about Bethany is the atmosphere. Being on the athletic teams, having small class sizes, and always being able to talk to my professors really made Bethany a special place to go to school. Now that I have attended a different university, this fact has become even more clear to me and I will always be grateful to have been a student at Bethany.
