Fugues, rondos, and sonatas. Tonality, chord progressions, and intervals. Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin. These are terms you will become very familiar with as a student of music.
Bethany's music major consists of foundational courses in music theory, sight-singing and ear training, and music history, but the major includes many opportunities outside the classroom too. You can play an instrument in the Concert Band, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Handbell Choir, or Drumline. If you?re a vocalist, you can sing in Concert Choir, Mary-Martha Singers, or perform in the annual Bethany Choraliers operetta. Hone your musical abilities through private lessons. Share your God-given talents in daily chapel services, recitals, and concerts. Learn from world-renowned musicians in master classes and Bethany?s chamber music series.
Graduates of music may find themselves directing ensembles, teaching private lessons, composing, performing, or furthering their studies in a graduate program.
