The history major consists of 39 credits including the 3-credit history general
studies requirement. Students work closely with an advisor to select other general
studies courses to compliment their interests in history from areas such as
geography, political science, social science, and the arts.
A minimum of 24 upper division credits are required. Of these, three must be
from a course in American history, three in European history, and three in pre-1815
history. Also required the following courses:
- Introduction to Research in History (HI480) or Research Methods in
the Social Sciences (PY320)
- Sr. Seminar in History (HI485)
