Majors
Exercise Science

Have you ever considered how the body moves or how it responds to exercise? What can be done to prevent injuries or to restore the injured body to health? These are questions an exercise scientist seeks to answer. As a student in this major you will study the human body and how it works in health and disease.

The Bethany exercise science major has a couple of unique features. In Introduction to Human Gross Anatomy you’ll have the opportunity to dissect a cadaver. This course, not typically offered at the undergraduate level, will give you firsthand insight into the structure of the human body. In addition to fulfilling exercise science coursework, the major also leaves room for you to take electives in other areas of interest that can result in a formal minor.

This degree was designed to fulfill the requirements to be recognized by the major governing bodies that oversee the field of exercise science. Possible career opportunities include coaching, biomechanist, corporate fitness director, exercise physiologist, personal trainer, and a strength and conditioning coach just to name a few. This major will also prepare students for graduate study if they so choose.
