The following pre-major requirements are ordinarily taken along with the other courses required to fulfill the general education requirements for the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. A grade point average of at least 2.8 in these courses is required for admittance into the Communication major:

• Speech Fundamentals (CM106)
• Interpersonal Communication (CM205)
• Introduction to Mass Media (CM240)
• Advanced Composition (CM225) or Creative Writing (CM208)
• Logic and Critical Thinking (PL201) or Argument and Advocacy (CM230)
