The Church Music major is built upon the understanding that music derives its purpose and strength from its role as a servant of Christ and His church. Within this major you will not only study the key components of music – history, literature, theory, and composition but will also examine the hymns and liturgy of the church, choral conducting, and service playing. In addition you will find ample opportunities to hone your musical skills in private lessons, daily chapel services, recitals, and concerts. The capstone course of this major is a supervised practicum where you will play an active role in the musical leadership of a local parish.
